Student leaders across Ekiti State have kicked off a bold voter registration sensitisation campaign aimed at promoting civic responsibility in tertiary institutions.

The initiative, led jointly by NANS Southwest Zone D, the Federation of Ekiti State Students Union (FESSU), and NANS JCC Ekiti Axis, was officially launched at the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti, with the inauguration of a sensitisation committee by the Ekiti State House of Assembly Speaker, Hon. Aribasoye.

General Chairman Comrade Mustapha Imran Taiwo, appointed for his commitment to youth engagement, heads the movement which has since moved to Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere-Ekiti (BOUESTI).

There, student leaders addressed their peers on the importance of securing Permanent Voter Cards and participating actively in elections. The campaign also provides hands-on assistance to students facing challenges with registration to ensure no one is left out of the democratic process.

Plans are underway to extend this vital campaign to all tertiary institutions across Ekiti State and the wider Southwest Zone in the coming weeks.

This movement, powered by students for students, seeks to build a generation of politically aware youths who understand that β€œyour vote is your power.”
