NOA in Ekiti Joins Forces with Traditional Rulers to Tackle Social Vices Across Communities

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) in Ekiti State is partnering with traditional rulers to amplify messages on patriotism and community development as part of its national campaign focusing on five key thematic areas.

Mrs Oluwakemi Akomolede, the state NOA Director, alongside her team, recently visited the palaces of HRM Oba Adebayo Adesanmi, Ologotun of Ogotun Ekiti, and HRM Oba Omoseebi Adegoroye Agunsoye II, Olohan of Erijiyan, to seek their support in spreading awareness.

Emphasising the dangers of extreme sign-out practices among students, Mrs Akomolede urged traditional leaders to help curtail such harmful customs that have led to loss of lives and social ills.

She also highlighted government programmes such as NELFUND, flood mitigation efforts, the need for national security vigilance through community policing, and respect for national symbols like the anthem and pledge, as essential pillars to foster unity.

Both monarchs welcomed the collaboration and pledged to cascade these vital messages, while also calling for improved public school resources, including better teacher employment and consistent textbooks.

The NOA reiterated its commitment to serving as an effective bridge between government and citizens, ensuring these values reach every corner of Ekiti’s communities and beyond.
