QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THE POSITIONS

Computer literacy is required for all positions:

1. Professor (CONUASS 07): Applicants must be authorities in the relevant field with Ph.D. degree or Postgraduate Fellowship specialist in relevant field (for the College of Health Sciences) from any reputable University with evidence of scholarly publications in reputable local, national and international journals with relevant professional bodies where applicable. Applicants must have had at least TEN (10) years University full-time teaching and research experience with ability to initiate and supervise research projects. Administrative experience will be an advantage. Successful applicants must be able to give academic and professional leadership in the field.
2. Reader (CONUASS 06): Same as for I above, with eight (8) years of University full-time teaching, research and administrative experience.
3. Senior Lecturer (CONUASS 05): Same as 2 above, with six (6) years of University full-time teaching, research and administrative experience.
4. Lecturer I (CONUASS 04): Candidates must normally possess a Ph.D. degree in the relevant field or for the College of Health, a basic degree in Medicine (MB; BS) and Postgraduate Fellowship. Three years of post-doctoral teaching and research experience is required except for the College of Health Sciences.
5. Lecturer II (CONUASS 03): A Ph.D. degree or MB; BS in the relevant field.
6. Assistant Lecturer / Assistant Librarian (CONUASS 02): Candidates must have Master’s degree in the relevant field.
7. Graduate Assistant (CONUASS 01): Candidates must have a degree with a minimum of Second Class (Upper Division) in the relevant field.

1. Architect (C0NTISS 08) Candidates must possess SSCE/GCE (O/L) or its equivalent with at least 5 credits inclusive of English Language and Mathematics, plus a good degree in the relevant field with additional higher qualification, M.Sc. Architecture. Candidate must have NYSC certificate and be computer literate.
2. Quantity Surveyor/Estate Surveyor/Builder (CONTISS 07) candidates must possess SSCE/GCE (O/L) or its equivalent with at least 5 credits inclusive of English Language and Mathematics, plus a good degree in Quantity Surveying/Estate Management/Building Technology Must have NYSC certificate and be computer literate.

Principal Medical Officer (CONMESS 13) Candidate must possess SSCE/GCE (O/L) or its equivalent with 5 credits in the relevant subjects inclusive of English Language and Mathematics plus recognised basic Medical/Dental qualification and fully registered with the Medical Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN). Candidate must possess NYSC Certificate and be computer literate plus at least seven (7) year cognate experience.
2. Senior Medical Officer (CONMESS 11) Candidate must possess SSCE/GCE (O/L) or its equivalent with 5 credits in the relevant subjects inclusive of English Language and Mathematics plus a recognised basic Medical/Dental qualification and fully registered with the Medical Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN). Candidate must possess a NYSC Certificate and be computer literate plus at least four (4) year cognate experience.
3. Staff Nurse/Midwife (CONHESS 07) Candidate must possess SSCE/GCE (O/L) or its equivalent with at least 5 credits in the relevant science subjects inclusive of English Language and Mathematics, plus registration with Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) and be computer literate.
4. Medical Laboratory Technician (CONHESS 06) Candidate must possess SSCE/GCE (O/L) or its equivalent with at least 5 credits in the relevant science subjects inclusive of English Language and Mathematics and also completed the prescribed four years training programme at the School of Health Technology and obtained the registration of the Institute of Medical Laboratory for Technician Cadre and be computer literate.
5. Pharmacist (CONHESS 08) candidate must possess SSCE/GCE (O/L) or its equivalent with at least 5 credits in the relevant science subjects inclusive of English Language and Mathematics with a good University degree in Pharmacy. Candidate must have registered with the Pharmacist Council of Nigeria (PCN) and must possess NYSC certificate and be computer literate.
6. Medical Laboratory Scientist (CONHESS 08) candidate must possess SSCE/GCE (O/L) or its equivalent with at least 5 credits in the relevant subjects inclusive of English Language and Mathematics plus a good University degree in Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) or B.Sc. in any of the paramedics with Associate in Medical Laboratory Science (AMLS) and a practising License with the Medical Laboratory Science Council (MLSCN) of Nigeria plus NYSC Certificate and be computer literate.

1. Higher Library Officer (CONTISS 07) candidate must possess SSCE/GCE (O/L) or its equivalent with at least 5 credits inclusive of English Language and Mathematics plus OND/NCE in Library Science and be computer literate plus seven (7) years cognate experience or SSCE/GCE (O/L) or its equivalent with at least 5 credits inclusive of English Language and Mathematics plus Higher National Diploma HND/a good University degree in Library Science, must have NYSC certificate and be computer literate.
2. Library Officer I (CONTISS 06) candidate must possess SSCE/GCE (O/L) or its equivalent with at least 5 credits inclusive of English Language and Mathematics plus OND/NCE in Library Science and be computer literate plus four (4) years cognate experience.

Workshop Superintendent (CONTISS 06) candidate must possess SSCE attempted plus Trade Test Grade II with at least ten (10) years cognate experience or SSCE/GCE (O/L) or its equivalent with at least 3 credits in the relevant subjects and 2 Passes inclusive of English Language plus Trade Test II plus ten (10) years cognate experience or SSCE/GCE (O/L)/ FED. Craft/NABTEB Part I or its equivalent with at least 5 credits inclusive of English Language and Mathematics plus Trade Test II and be computer literate plus seven (7) years cognate experience or SSCE/GCE (O/L)/ FED. Senior Driver/Mechanical II (CONTISS 04) candidate must possess a) SSCE attempted with Driver’s License Class E plus Trade Test Grade III in Auto mechanic with at least with seven (7) years driving experience or SSCE/GCE (O/L) or its equivalent with at least 3 credits in the relevant subjects and 2 Passes inclusive of English Language plus Driver’s License Class E and Trade Test Grade III in Auto mechanic with four (4) years driving experience or SSCE attempted plus Trade Test Grade II with at least four (4) years cognate experience plus Driver’s License Class E or SSCE/GCE (O/L)/ FED. Assistant Executive Signer (CONTISS 05) candidate must possess SSCE/GCE (O/L) with at least 5 credits inclusive of English Language and Mathematics and NCE in Special Education with bias in hearing impairment, must be skillful in Sign Language (ASL) and be computer literate.

Higher Executive Officer Audit (CONTISS 07) candidate must possess (a) SSCE/GCE (O/L) or its equivalent with at least 5 credits inclusive of English Language and Mathematics plus OND/NCE (Accounting/Finance) from any recognised institution plus seven (7) years cognate experience and be computer literate or SSCE/GCE (O/L) or its equivalent with at least 5 credits inclusive of English Language and Mathematics plus Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accountancy or Business Administration with accounting subjects obtained from a recognised institution with NYSC certificate and be computer literate.
P. RESEARCH MANAGER
Senior Research Manager (CONTISS 11) candidate must possess SSCE/GCE (O/L) or its equivalent with at least 5 credits inclusive of English Language and Mathematics with a good University degree plus ten (10) years cognate experience and evidence of membership of a recognized Professional body. Candidate must have NYSC certificate and be computer literate or Master’s degree plus seven (7) years cognate experience with evidence of membership of a registered professional body and be computer literate.

A. OTHER CONDITIONS

1. Appointment is normally on probation which may be confirmed after two years of satisfactory service. The post is pensionable.
