Engineer Kayode Olubunmi Ojo, a prominent aspirant in the 2026 Ekiti State governorship election, has successfully cleared a major hurdle after being screened by the All Progressives Congress (APC) Screening Committee in Abuja.
Despite a petition attempting to disqualify him, the committee found no merit in the allegations and gave Ojo the green light to proceed with his governorship bid.
This development positions Ojo, a respected businessman and current Pro-Chancellor of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, for the October 27 APC primary, where he will vie for the party’s ticket against incumbent Governor Biodun Oyebanji and other aspirants.
