The Federation of Ekiti State Students Union (FESSU) has responded to a recent memo issued by the Nigerian Youth Congress (NYC) regarding the ongoing situation at Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology (BOUESTI), Ikere-Ekiti.
While appreciating the NYC’s emphasis on peace and dialogue, FESSU clarified that the affairs of the state-owned tertiary institution are primarily the concern of recognized students’ bodies and stakeholders within the academic community, rather than the NYC.
FESSU, in collaboration with other campus-based associations and student leaders, has been engaging constructively with relevant authorities to mediate and sustain peace in BOUESTI.
The union urged the NYC Ekiti leadership to allow recognized student structures to continue with the peace dialogue process already underway.
FESSU remains committed to fostering dialogue and ensuring the welfare of students remains at the forefront of all resolutions.
