Major Shake-Up in Ekiti: Two Appointees Resign from Governor Oyebanji’s Administration in One Week

In a surprising political shift, two significant appointees in Ekiti State have tendered their resignations within a week. Both letters, addressed to His Excellency Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, signal a wave of change within the state’s administration as individuals pursue personal and professional growth outside public office.

The first resignation came from Shina Olawale Ogunleye, who formally stepped down on October 1, 2025, from his role as Member of the Ekiti State Microfinance and Enterprise Development Agency.

Ogunleye cited the need to focus on further studies, personal business ventures, and family commitments as the driving force behind his departure. In his letter, he expressed sincere gratitude for the opportunities bestowed upon him during his tenure under the current government.

Earlier on September 25, 2025, Sunday Oguntuase resigned from his position as Senior Special Assistant on Employment to the Ekiti State Governor’s Office. Oguntuase explained that his resignation was motivated by the desire to concentrate on personal business and family matters.

Furthermore, he conveyed that while his experience in public service had been invaluable, he was seeking new challenges more aligned with his career trajectory.

Both individuals left on respectful terms, emphasising a mutual appreciation for their time in service.
