Assistant Inspector-General Ajani Omolabi, overseeing police operations in Ondo and Ekiti States, has firmly urged officers to implement the Motor Vehicle (Prohibition of Tinted Glass) Act 2024 with professionalism and without resorting to extortion.
Omolabi warned that any police personnel found abusing their power would face strict disciplinary measures, reinforcing a zero-tolerance approach to misconduct during the enforcement.
The directive, which came into effect nationwide on 2 October 2025, requires motorists to either register online for a tinted glass permit at possap.gov.ng and undergo physical verification at police commands or remove their tinted glasses entirely.
Failure to comply will result in penalties. This enforcement also targets the illegal use of sirens, revolving lights, and unregistered vehicles, part of a broader crackdown ordered by the Inspector-General of Police.
Motorists in Ondo and Ekiti are thus warned to adhere strictly to the law or face sanctions, as the police vow to carry out their duties with fairness and dedication to the rule of law.
