FRSC Officers Accused of Illegal Operations on Street Roads in Ekiti

A concerned resident of Ekiti State has raised alarm over the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) alleged unauthorized activities on Ado-Ekiti street roads, particularly Ekute Road. The resident claims FRSC officials have been impounding vehicles and motorbikes illegally on roads managed by local authorities, where the corps is not authorised to operate. 

Reports include accusations of harassment and physical assault of motorists, including a young man riding a lady’s bike.

The complainant urges the FRSC Ekiti Command to curtail such high-handedness, stressing that the corps should limit operations strictly to federal roads. The resident warns of plans to document further infractions if the behaviour continues. 

This claim highlights concerns over the boundaries of FRSC jurisdiction and calls for a review of enforcement practices to protect motorists’ rights and curb unlawful harassment.
