At the Hamburg Sustainability Conference (HSC), we are committed to fostering a just and inclusive transition toward a sustainable future, one that is shaped collaboratively with those who will be most positively impacted by it.

To support this vision, we have established the HSC Youth Ambassador Program: an annual initiative that empowers young leaders from Emerging Markets and Developing Economies (EMDE) to actively participate in the conference, contribute their expertise, and help shape the global sustainability agenda.

Bridging the Global Voice Gap
Youth are not only the leaders of tomorrow, they are key agents of change today. However, voices from EMDE remain significantly underrepresented in international policy and sustainability dialogues.

The HSC Youth Ambassador Program addresses this imbalance by providing a platform for young changemakers to contribute their perspectives, shape the conversation, and influence global action.

At the Hamburg Sustainability Conference (HSC), we recognize that young people are key drivers of innovation, action, and change in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In line with this vision, we are inviting young leaders from Emerging Markets and Developing Economies (EMDE) to join the HSC on June 29-30, 2026.

What Does It Mean to Be an HSC Youth Ambassador?
As an HSC Youth Ambassador, you’ll have the chance to actively shape and contribute to formats taking place on the conference. Being part of the Youth Ambassador Cohort means getting engaged with the Conference, its topics and your fellow Ambassadors early in the lead-up to the conference, helping bring the HSC to life.

Share your voices – Contribute your insights, experiences, and solutions to global leaders working towards a sustainable future.
Join conference sessions – Participate as a speaker or attendee, depending on your expertise.
Engage with decision-makers – Connect with 1,600+ leaders, including heads of state and government.
Expand your network – Meet key leaders, press representatives, and local youth in Hamburg.
Fully funded participation – Your travel and accommodation costs are covered.
Connect with peers globally – Exchange ideas with fellow Youth Ambassadors from around the world before, during, and after the conference.
We are looking to amplify the voices of young community leaders who have a proven record of delivering concrete solutions to sustainability challenges and mobilizing supporters to drive success – whether by founding their own initiatives or raising awareness through existing networks.

Who Is Eligible to Apply?
Age: You are between 18 and 30 years old.

Background: You come from and reside in a country classified as an Emerging Market and Developing Economy (EMDE).

Leadership: You are a young leader actively driving sustainability efforts in your community.



Apply before October 15 to join us in Hamburg on June 29-30, 2026, and collaborate with decision-makers from different sectors to advance the Sustainable Development Goals. Travel and accommodation costs will be covered.
