The revered Kabiyesi Elemure, His Royal Majesty Oba James Babatunde Ajiboye, has expressed deep concern over the poor condition of Emure General Hospital during a courtesy visit to the Ekiti Hospital Management Board in Ado-Ekiti. The monarch highlighted several challenges facing the hospital, including inadequate staffing, insufficient facilities such as ambulances and stretchers, and subpar environmental conditions marked by overgrown bushes and inadequate toilet facilities. Emphasizing the need for urgent attention, Kabiyesi Elemure stressed that addressing these issues is crucial for delivering quality healthcare services to the people of Emure.

In response, Dr. Austin Ibikunle, Chairman of the Hospital Management Board, appreciated the monarch’s visit and assured him of the board’s commitment to collaborating with the Emure community to achieve excellent health delivery. He requested that Kabiyesi Elemure put his requests in writing to facilitate presentation to the governor.

Dr. O.O. Alabi, Permanent Secretary of the Hospital Management Board, acknowledged the monarch’s concerns while expressing the board’s displeasure over frequent attacks on hospital staff and vandalism of hospital properties by some Emure youths. Despite this, he reiterated the board’s willingness to work with the Emure community to improve healthcare delivery. The meeting was attended by key officials from both the palace and the hospital management board.
